Or: How a Small Piece of High-Tech from Andernach Becomes a Global Player<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andernach is known for the world\u2019s tallest cold-water geyser<\/a>, its historic city wall, and its location on the Rhine. What\u2019s less well known is that products from here find their way to nearly every region of the world. I am one of them: a transdermal therapeutic system, or TTS for short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey begins at LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AG<\/a>. Not on a map, but in development departments, laboratories, and production areas where expertise, experience, and precision come together. Before I even see the light of day, scientists, engineers, and numerous other experts have already invested countless hours in my development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Concept to Product<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, I seem unremarkable. A thin patch, no larger than the palm of a hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But appearances can be deceiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I contain technology designed to deliver active ingredients through the skin in a controlled manner. For this to work reliably, many details must be perfectly coordinated. Material properties, active ingredient release, adhesion, and stability are carefully developed and tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short: For a product my size, I\u2019m surprisingly sophisticated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quality Knows No Compromises<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I\u2019m allowed to set out on my journey, I\u2019m put through a thorough inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do I meet the requirements? Does everything work as intended? Can I withstand the stresses of transport and storage?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The answer must be unequivocal every time: Yes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because whether my final destination is New York, S\u00e3o Paulo, Sydney, or Tokyo, the expectations for quality and safety are the same everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A True Export Product<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After numerous inspections, the exciting part of my journey finally begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Packed and ready for shipment, I leave Andernach. From there, I travel through logistics centers, airports, and distribution channels to a wide variety of countries and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the process, I get to see much more of the world than many people do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While others collect vacation photos, I collect customs stamps and frequent flyer miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different everywhere, united at the destination<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the way, I encounter a wide variety of cultures, languages, and ways of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But no matter where I end up, my mission remains the same: to be part of a treatment that people can rely on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This usually happens quietly\u2014without much fanfare or headlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But often, it is precisely these unassuming products that make an important contribution to everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Andernach to the World<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I look back on my journey, one thing stands out in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey does not begin in one of the world\u2019s major metropolises, but on the Middle Rhine.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here at LTS, innovative drug delivery systems\u2014among other things\u2014are developed and used worldwide. These products demonstrate that international reach and innovation aren\u2019t necessarily tied to a location in New York, London, or Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, a global success story begins right here in Andernach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while visitors stroll along the banks of the Rhine or marvel at the cold-water geyser, the next TTS may just be making its way out into the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as the Rhine connects many countries from Andernach, LTS\u2019s innovations also reach people far beyond city and national borders\u2014with an impact that is felt around the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
